In a shock announcement SVT have today revealed that Malmö will be the host city of Eurovision 2013, not Stockholm as many were expecting. The venue will be the 15,500 seat Malmö Arena which has hosted a number of Melodifestivalen rounds in the past.
SVT confirmed that Malmö had been the front runner and that Stockholmn with it’s Friends Arena which could have seated over 60,000 people was just to large for the contest. We will go into more detail about Malmö later today.
