There are 3 rock songs in tonight’s semi final but which of them will triumph tonight. Now one is a definite rock number, 1 has a rocky hint and 1 used to be rock. So here is a break down of each ones chances:
Slovakia – Max Jason Mai – Don’t Close Your Eyes:
Now this is the proper rock song however it has struggled for most of the contest, in rehearsals it has never got to its prime and last night he was off-key. It may appeal to some but currently it does nothing for me, for the bookies as well it does not appeal either currently back in 13th place.
FYR Macedonia – Kaliopi – Crno i Belo:
This is the medium between the two other songs and this is also by far the strongest song. It also has the highest chance of qualification being in the semi dominated by Balkan countries. Crno i Belo is the perfect medium between rock and emotion, it is also FYR Macedonia’s strongest song in years so it will be likely in my view for qualification for the final. They are currently 9th in the bookies list.
Belarus – Litesound – We Are The Heroes:
Now this used to be a sure-fire qualifier for me until they got rid of the rock element, Belarus just don’t seem confident in their song. Now it is just a bit of a middle of the road song that does nothing to excite or entice the viewer. The bookies seem to agree as well with a 12th place currently for the song.
Whatever happens it will be an interesting contest tonight.
