San Marino is to debut in the Eurovision Young Musicians this year represented by Francesco Stefanelli.
San Marino has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2008 and Junior Eurovision since 2013, now they are set to participate in Eurovision Young Musicians for the very first time. San Marino has selected 16 year old Francesco Stefanelli to represent them this year in Cologne, Germany.
The participation of San Marino has been brought about by a collaboration between Istituto Musicale and San Marino Rtv. Francesco is already a well known cellist in San Marino and Italy have just been named the best cellist in Italy under the age of 20.
To date 9 countries have confirmed participation in the contest, the number of countries in Eurovision Young Musicians is limited to 15.
