Serbia took victory on their debut as an independent country in the Song Contest in 2007 and has participated in multiple other events across the Eurovision family.
Serbia in Eurovision
Serbia has competed as an independent nation in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2007 and has seen great success in the competition.
Their first entry in 2007, Marija Šerifović’s “Molitva”, won the contest in Helsinki with 268 points, making Serbia’s debut one of the most successful in Eurovision history. From then up to their year’s break in 2014, Serbia finished in the top 10 a further two times, including a 3rd place finish in 2012 with Željko Joksimović’s “Nije ljubav stvar”.

Serbia did not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 due to financial difficulties at the broadcaster RTS, RTS did however still air all three shows live.
Serbia and other Eurovision family events
Serbia has participated in two other Eurovision contests, Eurovision Young Musicians and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Eurovision Young Musicians
Serbia debuted in Eurovision Young Musicians in 2008, Mina Zakić represented Serbia in Vienna, Austria but did not qualify for the final. They returned to the contest in 2024, and RTS selected Bogdan Dugalić to compete, he was not among the top three.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Serbia made their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country in 2006. They were represented by Neustrašivi učitelji stranih jezika on their debut with the song “Učimo strane jezike”, finishing 5th with 81 points.
Serbia went on to compete annually until 2010, after which point RTS withdrew from the contest due to financial difficulties. Serbia returned to the contest in 2014 and has gone on to compete in the contest annually until 2023. In 2010 the Serbian broadcaster RTS bid to host the contest in Belgrade.
