Luxembourg was one of the founding countries of the Eurovision Song Contest and returned in 2024 to the contest after a more than 30 year absence.

Luxembourg is a five time winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Grand Duchy debuted in the contest in 1956 and competed nearly annually until 1993, they were then absent from the contest until returning in 2024.

Luxembourg did not participate in Eurovision 1959 but still aired the contest.

RTL has broadcast the Junior Eurovision Song Contest live since 2024. The 2024 contest marked the first time the broadcaster had aired a Eurovision competition that was not the Eurovision Song Contest.

Let the Peoples Sing

The contest was first held in 1961 by the BBC as an annual choral contest for choirs in the United Kingdom, since 1966 it has been a choral competition for choirs across Europe. Since the late 1970s, the European Broadcasting Union has organised the event with choirs allowed to compete from across the globe.

In 2013, Luxembourg hosted the contest at Luxembourg’s Philharmonic Hall. The competition was hosted by Radio 100.7, Luxembourg’s Public Radio.
