It’s time for another interview and this time we are off to Macedonia to speak to Esma & Lozano. So without a further wait here is what they had to say:
Congratulations, how does it feel for both of you to be representing Macedonia at Eurovision?
Esma & Lozano – It feels great, we’re honored to be invited to represent our country and we’re doing that with lot of proud and happiness.
Now you changed your song from “Imperija” to “Pred da se razdeni”, what made you change the song?
Esma & Lozano: The change was made by the Eurovision team from the national broadcaster MKRTV, responsible for organization of Macedonian entry each year. We respect their decision, as they thought that Pred da se razdeni is more appropriate for us.
How would you describe your new song?
Vlatko – I think that this is a song unique and different from the rest of the songs in the contest. With this song I believe two different music identity can be emphasized in the best possible way. The melody of the song is very powerful, the arrangement of the song has its own diversity and we’ll give our best to present the song through our magnificent interpretation.
Esma – The song is a ballad with strong emotion, my part, which I sing in Romany language (Gypsy language) is about uniting people and sending them a message to feel the rhythm and start singing and dancing with me, just as I do for them.
Esma you are known around the world for your music and your charity work, what drew you to take part in Eurovision?
Esma – In my personal opinion through Eurovision I think I could really help my country to be better presented in front of the European audience, considering my reach carrier of 55 years on stage, and I’m well known to European people, because yearly I make between 50-80 concerts all over the world, so maybe it will be a chance for my country to be recognized at once through my name.
Vlatko you have tried to take part in Eurovision twice in the past, what is the appeal of the contest for you?
Vlatko – Eurovision is big challenge for young artist as I am. I was competing twice, this time I was invited. I’m happy that someone is respecting my work and considers that I am dignified enough for this job!
2 weeks ago you released the lyric video for your song when can we expect the music video for the song?
Vlatko & Esma: Yes, the lyric video can help the Eurovision fans all over Europe to learn better our song, and sing it with us in Malmo. But we are preparing official video for Pred da se razdeni. If everything goes by the plan you can see it till the end of this week.
What can we expect from the both of yours performance in Malmo?
Vlatko: Good energy, great performance, we’ll give our best to make Europe enjoy one more Eurovision song and remember for a long time Pred da se razdeni!
Esma: You can expect powerful voices, glamorous look and mystic atmosphere for the stage performance.
