The ten songs competing in Melodi Grand Prix 2017 in Denmark have been released, with the final taking place this Saturday.
The ten songs that are competing to represent Denmark at the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine have been released. A record of 1,115 songs were submitted to compete in this years Danish selection. Denmark are hoping this year to return to the Eurovision Song Contest final for the first time since they hosted the contest in 2014.
The final of Melodi Grand Prix 2017 takes place on February 25 in Herning, the winner will be decided after two rounds of voting. The first round will see the public and jury vote, with the three songs that receive the most votes going through to the super final. The jury this year is made up of five Eurovision superfans.

The Olsen Brothers who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with “Fly On The Wings Of Love” will be performing at Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2017. This years Melodi Grand Prix marks 60 years of the competition making it the longest running entertainment show on Danish television.

To date Denmark has won the contest on three occasions, the first being in 1963 when Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann performed “Dansevise”. Denmark won the contest again in 2000 represented by the Olsen Brothers, their most recent victory came in 2013 when Emmelie de Forest performed “Only Teardrops”.
