NAVI the Belarusian entrants in the Eurovision Song Contest are to perform in the first semi final of the Ukrainian selection process.
Navi will be performing in the first semi final of Ukraine’s Eurovision 2017 selection process this Saturday. The group who were selected to represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest just under two weeks ago, are starting their pre-contest promotion by travelling across the border to Kyiv on Saturday night. They are one of two Eurovision artists to be performing in the selection, with Tako Gachechiladze who is representing Georgia also taking to the stage.
Navi will be performing their song “Historyja majho žyccia”. It is the first time that Belarus has sent a song to the Eurovision Song Contest which is being performed in Belarusian. The language has previously only been heard at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Last years Ukrainian selection also saw guest performances from the participants from Belarus, Ireland and Spain. Georgia’s guest appearance in the selection was announced before the semi final allocation draw, which saw Ukraine drawn to vote in the second semi final, which Georgia is not performing in.
The Ukrainian national final Vidbir 2017 gets underway this week The exact dates of the Ukrainian national selection are as follows:
- First semi final: February 4th
- Second semi final: February 11th
- Third semi final: February 18th
- Final: February 25th

For the past two years Belarus has failed to make it through to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, this year IVAN finished 12th in the second semi final, 21 points away from qualification. Belarus’ best result in the contest came in 2007 when Dmitry Koldun finished 6th in the final with a total of 145 points.
