The Czech Head of Delegation wants to hear your questions about the Czech Republic’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Ceska Televize has made a call to fans asking for questions for the country’s Eurovision Head of Delegation. The Czech Republic who returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, is hoping to once again reach the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in May, following their first qualification at last years contest in Stockholm. Ahead of the announcement of the country’s participant, the Czech Head of Delegation wants to hear your questions.
Jan Bors has been the Head of Delegation for the Czech Republic since November 2015. Jan has worked at Ceska Televize on a number of TV series including the Czech version of Dancing With The Stars and Game Page. Since taking on the role Jan has implemented an open submissions process which this year saw over 300 songs submitted for the selection process.
The Czech Republic has internally selected their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest every year since their return to the contest in 2015. The 2016 contest in Stockholm saw the Czech Republic qualify for their first ever Eurovision Song Contest final. Gabriela Gunčíková became the first artist representing the Czech Republic to qualify from a semi final and went on to finish 25th in the final. The Czech Republic finished last on the televote with 0 points, but 21st with the juries scoring a total of 41 points.

The country went on to participate for a further two years before withdrawing from the contest after the 2009 edition in Moscow where Gipsy.cz scored nul points.
