Today: Jury Final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016

Today is when the points get decided with the juries voting on the jury show for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Malta.

Today the juries will be voting on the 17 songs in the 14th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Valletta, Malta. With the song contest moving away from televoting and to a year where all of the national juries will be voting on the performances that they will see this evening. In each of the 17 countries a jury made up of five children and a jury made up of five adult music professionals will be voting on the performances.

The only scores that will be decided during the final of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will be those of the Expert Panel. On the Expert Panel are Christer Björkman (Head of Delegation of Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest), Mads Grimstad (Universal Music Denmark), and Jedward (Represented Ireland at Eurovision 2011 & 2012).

The schedule for today is as follows:

  • First Dress Rehearsal – 10:00 CET
  • Jury Rehearsal – 16:00 CET

The running order for the show is as follows:

  5. Malta – Christina Magrin – Parachute
  6. Bulgaria – Lidia Ganeva – Magical Day
  7. F.Y.R. Macedonia – Martija Stanojković – Love Will Lead Our Way (Ljubovta ne vodi)
  8. Poland – Olivia Wieczorek – Nie zapomnij
  9. Belarus – Alexander Minyonok – Musyka moikh pobed
  10. Ukraine – Sofia Rol – Planet Craves For Love
  11. Italy –  Fiamma Boccia – Cara Mamma – Dear Mom
  12. Serbia – Dunja Jeličić – U la la la
  13. Israel – Shir & Tim – Folllow My Heart
  14. Australia – Alexa Curtis – We Are

A total of 17 countries are set to compete in the 14th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this November in Malta. Returning to the contest this year are Cyprus, Israel and Poland. Cyprus last competed in 2014, while Israel made their only appearance to date in 2012, Poland is returning to the contest after 12 years away.

The final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 takes place on November 20 at the Mediterranean Conference Center in Valletta, Malta. This years contest is open to singers aged between 9 and 14 years old.
