Cyprus’ entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016, “Dance Floor” performed by George Michaelides has been released.
“Dance Floor” the Junior Eurovision 2016 entry from Cyprus, performed by George Michaelides has been revealed during the evening news on RIK1. “Dance Floor” is written and composed by Andreas Anastasiou and Jonas Gladnikoff, as well as George himself. The music video for the song was directed by Maria Charis, filming of the video took place over the past two weeks.
George won Sigma TV’s “Musical Kids” in January, winning the contest saw him go straight into performing in “Amanda the Musical” in Nicosia. George’s main interest growing up has been dancing, he has competed in events across Europe including the European Street Dance Championships where he came 3rd in the under 12’s category. He was selected earlier in September to represent Cyprus in Junior Eurovision, after an open call for songs was made.

I am from Greece so I would love to support Cyprus. But I’m sorry, this song is so bad, it’s a hot mess. In a year full of great and high-quality entries, Cyprus is doomed to finish last. See you in 2017, as you have already confirmed participation… and hopefully, with a good entry this time.

It doesn’t hurt to listen to it a few more times. Who knows? Your opinion might change after a while. If I don’t like any particular song that’s released, I only listen to a few seconds of whatever song it is, and then I move on. Don’t worry! Hopefully Cyprus chooses a better entry next year. BTW, I’m not saying that I hate “Dance Floor”, but I understand people do. 🙂

Its a song that you normally wouldnt hear at Junior Eurovision, but i kinda like it and if the stage performance is great in Malta i think this entry can be suprisingly good.

I like the song, it ‘s not bad, but I miss a chorus. It ‘s far from my favorite !! I hoped for a better song.
