The Czech public broadcaster ČT has revealed its broadcast plans for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 which will take place in Vienna, Austria this May.
ČT has revealed that Ondřej Cikán will commentate on the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, having first taken on the role last year when the contest was held in Basel, Switzerland. Ondřej Cikán is a radio presenter, voiceover artist and entrepreneur.
The Czech broadcaster will this year air the Semi-Finals of Eurovision 2026 on May 12 and 14 on ČT2, with the Grand Final on May 16 to air on ČT1. This returns to how the Czech broadcaster split the Semi-Finals and Finals across its two main channels between 2016 and 2021. In addition the contest will be streamed on the broadcasters streaming platform iVysílání.
Daniel Zizka was selected by the Czech Broadcaster ČT from 260 submissions, with the entries being reviewed by a combination of experts and a public poll based in three different countries. He is 23 years old and has been described as one of the best new artists in the Czech music industry.
Daniel will compete in slot 5 in the second semi-final on May 14.

Czechia first competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. They achieved their best result at the contest with Mikolas Josef coming 6th in Lisbon 2018 with the song “Lie to Me”. Gabriela Gunčíková took Czechia to their first final in 2016. This came after a three year run of non-qualifications between 2007 and 2009, and missing out on a place in the final on their return in 2015. Until 2023, the nation took part under the name Czech Republic.
