The running order for the last show of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024 semifinals has been announced by PBS today.
The Maltese broadcaster has announced the running order of the last nine songs that are competing in the Maltese selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The nine acts that will be performing in the fourth and last semifinal on XOW on November 17 from 21:00 CEST are:
- Erbà – “Sirena” (Siren)
- Miriana Conte – “Venom”
- Christian Arding – “Bellus”
- Lisa Gauci – “Breath”
- Matt Blxck – “Banana”
- Martina Cutajar – “Miles Away”
- Greta Tude – “Topic (Bla Bla)”
- Ryan Hili – “Karma”
- Kyle George – “Arrows”
Thirty-six acts are competing in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024, the performances will take place on XOW over the course of four weeks. From the live performances the public and jury will be able to vote for their favourites. The twelve acts that receive the highest number of points will progress to the final in January.
In the final, however, the competing artists will not perform their songs live. Instead, they will be invited to record a live-on-tape version of their entry in December 2023, where they will have three takes and a 60-minute window to get the best possible performance.
Additionally, each of the 12 finalists will receive a grant of €5,000 to make a music video, which will also air on the night of the grand final.
Once each act’s live-on-tape performance and music video have aired, a jury vote and public vote will be combined to determine the winner and the song that will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö.
The winner of MESC 2024 will follow in the footsteps of The Busker, who won the 2023 edition of the contest with “Dance (Our Own Party”. Malta performed in the First Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, coming 15th out of 15 acts on the night after scoring only three points overall.

Malta debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971 and was represented by Joe Grech and the song “Marija L-Maltija”, which finished last. Malta competed again in 1972 and 1975 but then withdrew until their return in 1991. During the 1990s Malta only once finished outside of the top 10, and in 1998 they came within just 7 points of victory. It was Chiara who brought the country their 3rd place finish in 1998, and who went on to finish in 2nd at the 2005 contest in Kyiv. The only other artist to finish 2nd for Malta is Ira Losco, who was 12 points away from victory in 2002. They are the longest and most successful participating country never to have won the Eurovision Song Contest.
