Eurovision 2023 winner, Loreen, releases her new single ‘Is It Love’.
After her immense success with her Eurovision winning song ‘Tattoo’, Loreen has today released her much-anticipated new single ‘Is It Love’, produced by Swedish record producer and song-writer Rami Yacoub; who has worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Madonna and Lady Gaga.

Talking on her new song, Loreen goes on to say:
“[Is It Love] was born from a place of seeking clarity, it’s a song describing and contemplating a love that’s so deep but at the same time filled with confusion. It’s about realising that to create a deeper understanding of yourself you need to accept the duality of life, that distortion and clarity goes hand in hand and are equally as important. And to experience the depth of true love, both to the self as well as to others, you have to accept and experience the depth of pain”
Universal Music Sweden’s press release on Loreen’s new single goes onto describe the journey on which you travel while listening to ‘Is It Love’:

She opens up like never before as she wonders ‘Is It Love’ on this engaging and enthralling new anthem. ‘Is It Love’ is about the duality in love. How there’s no light without darkness, no clarity without distortion and no love without pain.”
‘Is It Love’ was written by MTHR, Dag Lundberg and Maia Wright. All three songwriters have previously worked with big stars with MTHR working with Zara Larsson and Neiked, Dag Lindberg working alongside Lost Frequencies and Maia working with Admin Van Buuren and Griffin NOTD.
The vocal production of the song was produced together by Albin Nedler and mix engineer Josh Gudwin. Albin has worked with some of the music industry’s biggest names, including Harry Styles, Sam Smith and Selena Gomez, as well as, Josh working alongside Bad Bunny, J Balvin and Justin Bieber.
The Press Release also goes on to talk about Loreen’s leading role as a female diaspora artist, with her Moroccan Berber roots embedded in her new “sky-scraping” pop sound, which flits between cultures. In a recent cover interview with Vogue Arabia, they had mentioned that Loreen had “claimed her moment in the spotlight is only getting brighter”.
A reason behind the cultural influences in Loreen’s music comes from the fact that nomadic influences are becoming a more popular and common sound in Western pop music and with the dominance with TikTok and Eurovision, a new generation of artists outside of the Western pop industry are making new music that is accessible to everyone, bringing different communities together and “reaching audiences beyond borders on their own terms”.
Loreen has amassed an incredible 13 million Spotify listeners and with ‘Is It Love’ following Loreen’s hit single ‘Tattoo’ that won Eurovision 2023, she is sure to garner even more success.
As well as her new single, Loreen is set to embark on a sold-out UK & European tour this winter, beginning in Dublin on 7th November and finishing on 5th December in Paris. Fans who were lucky enough to get tickets will be in for a treat with Loreen set to perform with some amazing visuals and lighting displays, designed by Tobias Rylander. Tobias is also behind the lighting display of Beyonce’s Reniassance World Tour, as well as, Loreen’s Eurovision 2023 winning performance. The shows are expected to be a “completely immersive experience, mimicking Loreen’s personal ethics of prioritising connections with fans, nature, spirituality and music”.
