In just a week’s time, the selection for Junior Eurovision Poland is set to kick off. Dziennik Eurowizyjny has revealed the first set of participants to try to win Szansa na Sukces: Eurowizja Junior 2023.

A newly released trailer on Instagram has given a sneak peek into the upcoming Polish national selection for Junior Eurovision. The first candidates are introduced in the video and we see the esteemed judges: the trio of Tulia (ESC 2019), Sara James (JESC 2021), and singer Marek Sierocki.

The event will be hosted by TV presenter Olek Sikora and has a remarkable theme: ‘international hits’.

Leon Olek
The first contestant is the 13-year-old Leon Olek. His name resonates from his appearance in the sixth edition of “The Voice Kids” in Poland, where he reached the finals. Music ignited for him at the Communal Cultural Center Sezam in Przeźmierowo, with further education at the State Primary Music School in Tarnów Podgórne. Leon boasts an Instagram following of over 5,000 users and will sing OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars” in the Semi-Final.

Daria Malicka
Daria Malicka, another alumnus of the sixth season of “The Voice Kids,” steps onto the stage as a contender. While her journey on the show was relatively shorter, her performance got hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and TikTok. Her semifinal offering for “Chance” is a rendition of Adele’s “Easy on Me.”

Oliwia Majewska
Oliwia Majewska, also a representative of “The Voice Kids” sixth edition, will grace the competition with her presence. Although her blind audition performance didn’t turn any chairs, she has been able to release her own music. A week ago she released her single “Non Stop”. In the Semi-Final, she will sing a rendition of Rosa Linn’s “Snap”.

Milosz Zarzeka
Miłosz Zarzeka, a finalist from the same “The Voice Kids” sixth season, stands ready to captivate the Polish audience. The 14-year-old’s YouTube repertoire includes captivating covers, notably embracing Switzerland’s Eurovision entry “Watergun.” Just today, he released a cover of Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”. It’s still unknown which song Zarzeka will sing in Szansa na Sukces.

Patrycja Kulicka
Furthermore, we have Patrycja Kulicka, a former contestant in the fifth edition of “The Voice Kids”. She ended up in the Battle Rounds. Patrycja will sing Frans’ “If I Were Sorry” (ESC 2016).

Hania Adamczyk
Szansa na Sukces not only consists of participants of the Polish version of “The Voice Kids”. The first to prove it is Hania Adamczyk. Hania’s YouTube portfolio brims with covers, paying homage to Adele, Sanah, Edyta Górniak and Krystyna Prońko.

Elena Popowicz
The last face of this first set of contestants is Elena Popowicz. Popowicz makes her return after last year’s Szansa na Sukces. In this Semi-Final she will sing Loreen’s “Euphoria” (ESC 2012).

At the 2022 contest in Armenia, Laura represented Poland with the song “To the Moon”, finishing in 10th place with 95 points. Poland is the sixth best-performing country in the Junior Eurovision, with two victories and three top-10 finishes.

Altogether, Szansa na Sukces: Eurowizja Junior 2023 commences on September 3 at 15:15 CEST on TVP2, and will culminate in the final on September 24.
