Today we meet the youngest participant in this years Eesti Laul, Elisa Kolk. Elisa will be singing “Superlove” in this years contest and will be hoping to fly the Estonian flag at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.
Thank you Elisa for talking to us, your song in Eesti Laul is called “Superlove”, can you tell us more about it?
Superlove is a typical love-story song. But not only! The main message of this song is that we all have every kind of hard situations in life, but we still have to stay positive and deal with them. We have to keep on trying when we really wish something!
Your song is written by Vahur Valgmaa, he has written a number of songs for the Estonian Eurovision selection process, what was it like to work with him?
He is a very well-known producer in Estonia. Works only with the best ones. We have done a lot of work and had a lot of fun! Working with him has always been so cool and productive and we continue it definitely.
Now I read that you started writing songs at the age of 13, what was it that got you into music?
I started singing when I was 2-years old. This has always been my biggest passion. I think I was old enough at the age of 13 to write my own song.
If I’m correct you are the youngest participant in the contest at 17 years old, which makes me at 18 question what I’m doing with my life, but regardless, do you think age is an issue in the contest?
Yes, when I think about it, I really am the youngest! Why it should be an issue?:) Definitely not an issue. I think it is cool and I feel so ready for this!
Now I saw on your Twitter that you are also an amazing artist, your drawings are very impressive, you said it is one of your biggest passions, what do you enjoy about it?
Oh thank you! I did it 1-2 years ago..not anymore. I really enjoy drawing, specially when I have a lot of pressure on me. It is relaxing.
Going into Eesti Laul, were you fully aware of the popularity of the show outside of Estonia and across the world?
To be honest..I can see and feel it now how big this is! There are so many fans of Eesti Laul all over the world and it is so so cool! I would say I wasn’t before.
For you is the aim to reach the final of Eesti Laul or Eurovision, or will you take it as it happens?
When we made this song, we already knew that we just have to get through. I could say that we made it only for Eesti Laul and Eurovision. I am going to give everything of me and do my best – we will see…never know. Being on that big Eurovision stage has always been one of my biggest dreams in life.
Out of all of your jobs as a model, actress and a singer, which do you enjoy the most and why?
Singing of course! This is the main thing for me. Music is a part of me. Modelling is probably the second one.
