The Intelligent Music Project have confirmed that their song for Eurovision 2022 “Intention” will be revealed on December 5.
Bulgaria’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is set to be revealed on Sunday December 5. “Intention” will be played for the first time on BNT’s morning show, Denyat zapochva s Georgi Lyubenov (The day begins with Georgi Lyubenov).
Speaking to Darik Radio, the group explained:
The song raises the question of each of us’ personal inner struggle with outdated patterns of faith and behavior that pull us back. There is no safe area. There is a useless existence. Finding the right path, however, is a battle, even a war with oneself. Serious intention is needed to win the good!
Who are Intelligent Music Project?
The group will be joined by Ronnie Romero, who will be the lead band member for the country’s entry in Turin. He is famous for being the lead vocalist and member of several bands including Lords of Black and Rainbows.
In the group are also Slavin Slavchev (being an X-Factor Bulgaria winner), Ivo Stefanov, Bisser Ivanov, Dimitar Sirakov and Stoyan Yankoulov who is a very well known and seasoned Eurovision alumni.
He represented Bulgaria alongside Elitsa Todorova on two separate occasions, in 2007 in Helsinki with Вода (Voda) where they placed 5th and held the best record for their country for 10 editions, and later in Malmö in 2013 with Само Шампиони (Samo Shampioni) where they sadly missed out on a place in the Grand Final.

At the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, 17-year-old Kristian Kostov finished in second place in the Grand Final, bringing Bulgaria their best ever result. 2017 saw Bulgaria make only their third final in their Eurovision history, the first being in 2007 when Elitsa & Stoyan finished 5th with the song “Water”. Bulgaria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine in 2005. The country competed annually from 2005 to 2013, before withdrawing for two years due to financial issues.
