“Maps” the Irish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 by Lesley Roy will be released on February 26.
The Irish entry for Eurovision 2021 is set to be revealed on February 26, “Maps” is the title of the song that Lesley Roy will be performing. The singer has spent a number of months working on the song and filming for the music video for “Maps” took place earlier this week in County Wicklow.

“Maps” has been written and produced by Lesley, along with producer Lukas Hallgren (producer of “She Got Me” -Switzerland 2019), Philip Strand (producer/songwriter), Normandie, Deepend and Emelie Eriksson, a Stockholm based songwriter at Baggpipe.
Who Is Lesley Roy?
Lesley has written for several international artists, including Adam Lambert, Miss Montreal and Medina. The album she wrote on for Adam Lambert “Trepassing” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, marking Lesley’s first co-write on a No. 1 album for the track “Pop That Lock”.
Lesley was originally supposed to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with “Story of My Life” before it was cancelled. RTÉ then decided to select Lesley again for the 2021 contest. She has spent the past three months in studio working her 2021 entry.

Ireland debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1965 and is currently the most successful country to have participated in the contest, winning a total of seven times. During the 1990’s Ireland was a powerhouse in the contest becoming the first country to win three years in a row from 1992 to 1994. Since 2000 Ireland has struggled in the contest having qualified from the semi-final into the final just six out of a possible 13 times. Ireland’s last top 10 result came in 2011 when Jedward finished 8th in Dusseldorf.
