YLE has announced the three acts that will be performing as part of the final of UMK 2023 on February 25.
The Finnish broadcaster has announced that The Rasmus, BESS and Samu Haber will all be performing as part of UMK 2023. The Rasmus won last years edition of UMK and represented Finland in Turin, while BESS competed in UMK 2022 and went on to have the biggest hit of the year in Finland with “Ram Pam Pam” The Rasmus commented:
“It’s so awesome to get back up on the UMK stage! When we were in last year’s contest, the excitement was overwhelming. Now, we get to come back to Logomo to head up an amazing show with our latest single Live and Never Die,”
BESS added:
“It’s a huge pleasure and honour to be able to perform on the UMK stage again and put together a show with this amazing team,” says BESS. “It’s all at once inspiring, exciting and challenging in a different way than when I was competing. It’s so awesome! So, buckle up, and don’t say I didn’t warn you – this UMK is going to be a mega show like no one has ever seen before.”
Samu Haber who is also hosting the contest commented:
“Just being the host for UMK23 alone is such a great honour, but I have to admit that perhaps the biggest reason for me doing this is the chance to really cut loose on stage,” explains Haber. “Artists don’t get many chances like this to have this kind of setup for doing your own number, and then get to blow everyone away with no holds barred.”
The final of UMK 2023 will take place on February 25 in Logomo in Turku. The show will be hosted by Samu Haber. Logomo will play host to UMK for the second year in a row and the third time overall. As with the last two contests, the Finnish entry for Eurovision 2023 will be chosen by international juries (25%) and public voting (75%).
The running order for the final in Turku is:
- Robin Packalen – “Girls Like You“
- KUUMMA – “Ylivoimainen” (Overpowered)
- Käärijä – “Cha Cha Cha“
- Keira – “No Business on the Dancefloor“
- Benjamin – “Hoida mut” (Take care of me)
- Lxandra – “Something to Lose“
- Portion Boys – “Samaa taivasta katsotaan” (We look at the same sky)
