Speaking to the Éirevision podcast, Head of Delegation Michael Kealy, has confirmed that Eurosong 2023 is provisionally planned for February 3.
Ireland’s national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 is provisionally planned to take place on February 3. The Irish Head of Delegation revealed to the Éirevision podcast, that 300 songs were submitted into the selection process this year.
In addition, changes have already been announced to the format for Eurosong. For the 2023 selection, the studio jury will no longer have a vote in the act that will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Brooke represented Ireland at this year’s contest in Turin with the song “That’s Rich”. She finished 15th in the second semi-final with 47 points.

Ireland debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1965 and is currently the most successful country to have participated in the contest, winning a total of seven times. During the 1990’s Ireland was a powerhouse in the contest becoming the first country to win three years in a row from 1992 to 1994. Since 2000 Ireland has struggled in the contest having qualified from the semi-final into the final just six out of a possible 13 times. Ireland’s last top 10 result came in 2011 when Jedward finished 8th in Düsseldorf.
