The next six acts have qualified from the third heat of Pabandom iš naujo, making them one step closer to representing Lithuania at Eurovision 2022.
Lithuania’s search for their Eurovision 2022 representative continued this evening with the third of six weeks of shows. Twelve acts were competing in the second heat of Pabandom iš naujo! 2022 for six places in the semi-finals.
The twelve participants were (qualifiers in bold – jury + public vote):
- Basas Pegasas – Ponai – 4+2 – 6 points – 7th
- Rūta Loop – Call Me From the Cold – 8+8 – 16 points – 2nd
- Vasha – Nepaleidi – 3+3 – 6 points – 8th
- Geleibra – Aš jaučiu tave – 2+1 – 3 points – 11th
- Vilija – Šimtas ir vienas – 10+0 – 10 points – 10 points – 6th
- Emilija Valiukevičiūtė – Overload – 0+0 – 0 points – 12th
- Gintarė Korsakaitė – Fantasy Eyes – 5+6 – 11 points – 5th
- Živilė Gedvilaitė – Lioness – 0+4- 4 points – 10th
- Monika Liu – Sentimental – 12+12 – 24 points – 1st
- Gebrasy – Into Your Arms – 7+7 – 14 points – 4th
- Mėnulio fazė – Give Me a Sign – 1+5 – 6 points – 9th
- Lolita Zero – Not Your Mother – 6+10 – 16 points – 3rd
A total of six acts qualified from this evening’s show for the next round. The qualifiers were determined by 50% televoting and 50% jury voting. For the first time, the juror’s votes were not revealed, with the results being announced at the end of the show to ensure it didn’t influence the public vote.
Giedrius Masalskis, Ieva Stasiulevičiūtė, and Richardas Jonaitis will host this year’s edition of Pabandom Iš Naujo. All three of this year’s hosts have experience working in radio and television. Giedrius hosted the previous Lithuanian selection Eurovizijos Atranka, while Ieva returns to host Pabandom iš Naujo for the second year in a row.

Lithuania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994, however on their debut they finished in last place with nul points. Lithuania didn’t return to the contest until 1999 when Aiste finished 20th with the song “Strazdas”. Lithuania’s best result came in 2006 when LT United performed “We Are The Winners”; they finished 6th in the final with a total of 162 points. Lithuania has only finished in the top 10 on two other occasions; in 2016 with “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” by Donny Montell and in 2021 with “Discoteque” by The Roop.
