ESC Kompakt has revealed the four acts that are rumoured to be in the running to represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
As of November, it was revealed that four artists were in contention to represent in Turin, ESC Kompakt has now revealed the four acts that are rumored to be on the list in contention. The rumored acts come from a variety of genres and offer a range of potential songs for Austria in 2022.
The four acts are:
- ANGER – a pop duo from South Tyrol who currently live in Vienna. They have already received an Amadeus Austrian Music Award and are active in festivals across Europe.
- Candlelight Ficus – Four member band from Styria who are known for their “funky indie-pop”, they have released two EPs to date
- DelaDap – An electro-swing band who previously competed in the Austrian Eurovision selection in 2012, they have been active for 20 years
- LUM! X – DJ who featured on the German singles charts for a total of 80 weeks from August 2019 to April 2021 with the song “Monster”
ORF will take a final decision on the Austrian entry for Eurovision 2022 by the middle of the month, with the reveal of the artist expected towards the end of this month.
Vincent Bueno performed “Amen” for Austria at Eurovision 2021, he finished 12th in Semi-Final Two scoring a total of 66 points. This is the second consecutive contest Austria has failed to qualify for the final in.

Austria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957, Bob Martin represented the country on their debut but finished in the last place scoring just 3 points. The country has gone on to finish last in the contest on 8 occasions. Austria has won the contest on two occasions, the first being in 1966 when Udo Jürgen performed “Merci, Cherie”. It was 48 years later that Austria won again when Conchita Wurst performed “Rise Like a Phoenix” scoring a total of 290 points.
