RTP has announced its schedule for December 19, with Junior Eurovision 2021 being broadcast live on RTP1 and RTP Internacional.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest remains on the main channel of the Portuguese broadcaster RTP for its 19th edition on December 19. The contest is being broadcast live in Portugal on RTP1, while internationally the contest is being aired live on RTP Internacional, RTP Internacional Ásia and RTP Internacional América.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 is being broadcast live internationally on:
- Bulgaria – BNT 4
- Spain – TVE Internacional
Who is Simão Oliveira?
Fourteen-year-old Simão Oliveira is from Arouca, a village near Porto, Portugal. He began singing at four years old and currently practices the clarinet in his hometown’s youth band. Simão won the latest season of The Voice Kids Portugal under the mentorship of Fernando Daniel, who has gone on to write his competing Junior Eurovision song.

Portugal debuted at the 2006 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Budapest, Romania. The country placed second-last that year and the year later, before withdrawing in 2008. They were not to return until 2017 where they were represented by Mariana Venancio, who placed 14th with her song “YouTuber”.
