Denmark’s Eurovision 2021 representatives Fyr og Flamme will open Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2022.
Fyr og Flamme has announced today that they will be opening Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2022, next year’s Danish Eurovision selection. Fyr og Flamme won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2021 and so went on to sing “Øve os på hinanden” at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, the first time since 1997 that a song in completely in Danish was sent to the contest.
The group failed to progress to the final of the contest and finished in 11th place in the 2nd Semi-final, just missing out on making the final. Despite this, the group was able to reach number one on the Danish charts with their entry.
Tina Müller and Martin Brygmann will present Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. The show will take place in the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning on March 5. This will be the sixth edition of the contest to be held in Herning and the third to be held in the Jyske Bank Boxen. For the first time in two years, a live audience will be able to attend the show. The eight competing songs will be revealed in February.
