NRK has this morning confirmed the dates for Melodi Grand Prix 2022 with the reveal that all competing songs will be revealed at once.
The dates of Melodi Grand Prix 2021 have been announced by NRK, as tickets go on sale for the competition. Melodi Grand Prix 2022 will commence on January 15, with six weeks of shows. In a change from last year, a reveal event is planned for January 10 where all twenty-one competing artists and songs will be revealed.
Stig Karlsen the Head of Delegation explained that he believes the quality of the songs this year is “sky high”, adding “Melodi Grand Prix will offer something for everyone. Whether it’s big ballads or Norse”. Tickets can be purchased here from 275 NOK.

- January 15 – Semi-Final One
- January 22 – Semi-Final Two
- January 29 – Semi-Final Three
- February 5 – Semi-Final Four
- February 12 – Second Chance Round
- February 19 – Grand Final

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, eleven in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
