Mikolas Josef, the most successful Czech Eurovision representative, has submitted a song into ESCZ 2022.
Eurovision Fun reports that Mikolas Josef has submitted a song into the Czech selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Mikolas represented the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with “Lie to Me”, finishing 6th in the Grand Final with 281 points including 12 points from Austria and Israel.
Eurovision Song CZ 2022 will once again be an online selection, however, instead of music videos, live performances of the competing entries will be voted on.
The performances will be recorded as live-on-tape, with the recordings being released in early December. The winner will be determined by 50% international jury, 25% international public vote, and 25% Czech public voting.
Benny Cristo represented the Czech Republic at the Eurovision 2021 with “Omaga”. He finished 15th out of 17 in semi-final two scoring a total of 23 points, all 23 points came from the juries with the public awarding 0 points in the televote.

The Czech Republic achieved their best result at the contest with Mikolas Josef coming 6th in Lisbon 2018 with the song “Lie to Me”. One year later in Tel Aviv, Lake Malawi achieved their second-best placing with their entry “Friend of a Friend” coming 11th. Before this, their best placing was Gabriela Gunčíková who came 25th in 2016. This was their first appearance in the grand final despite competing 4 times previously.
