RTSH is set to internally select its entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Paris, France.
Eurostar reports that RTSH is set to internally select its singer and song for the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021. In a communication seen by Eurovoix, the broadcaster confirms that it will not be using Junior Fest to select its representative, instead internally selecting a participant. This marks the first time RTSH will not use a national selection to select the song and singer for Junior Eurovision.
Albania has used a national final to select their Junior Eurovision entrants through a national final since their debut in 2012. RTSH will in the coming days make an open call for songs to represent Albania in the competition.🇦🇱 Albania: RTSH To Internally Select Act for Junior Eurovision 2021
Albania is returning to Junior Eurovision this year having not taken part in Junior Eurovision 2020, citing Covid-19 restrictions as the reason for their withdrawal. Their last participation was in 2019, where Isea Çili finished 17th with “Mikja ime fëmijëri”.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will take place at La Seine Musicale in Paris, France on the 19th of December following Valentina’s 2020 win with the song “J’imagine”. This is the first time France have hosted the contest and the first Eurovision event in the country since Eurovision Young Dancers 1999 in Lyon.

Albania in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Albania first debuted in the Junior Eurovision Contest in 2012, and to date have had six entries. The country is still yet to win the contest, and their best result was in 2015, when Mishela Rapo performed her song “Dambaje”, which scored a total of 93 points and ended on 5th place. Albania were absent from the contest in 2013 and 2014, before returning again in 2015.
