TVR will not be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year, having last participated in 2009.
Romanian broadcaster TVR has confirmed to Eurofestivales that they will not return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. The country joins Bulgaria, Denmark, Latvia, Moldova, Norway, San Marino, Sweden, and Switzerland as non-returning countries.
Romania last participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2009, when Ioana Bianca Anuța performed “Ai puterea în mâna ta” and finished last with 19 points. Romania was one of the original 16 countries to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and hosted the 2006 contest in Bucharest. Their best result came in 2004 when Noni Răzvan Ene finished 4th with the song “Îți mulțumesc”.
Paris will host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on December 19 in La Seine Musicale. The following countries have confirmed their participation so far:
