Djivan Gasparyan who performed on stage for Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 has died at the age of 92.
Armenian folk musicians and composer Djivan Gasparyan has died at the age of 92. Djivan was famous across the world for performing the duduk and had been celebrated with UNESCO medals as well as a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional World Music Album in 2006.
In 2010 Djivan became the oldest person at the time to take to the Eurovision Song Contest stage in Oslo, Norway. He performed the duduk in Oslo as part of the Armenian entry “Apricot Stone” by Eva Rivas, at the time he was 83 years old.
