SVT has confirmed that they will not be participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in France.
The Swedish public broadcaster SVT has confirmed that it will not be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. The broadcaster confirmed the news as rehearsals take place for the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Sweden last participated in the 2014 contest in Malta, where Julia Kedhammar sang “Du är inte ensam” which placed 13th with 28 points. This isn’t the first time the nation has withdrawn from the contest, as they were absent from the 2008 contest. Sweden’s highest placing was in 2006, where Molly Sandén came 3rd with her song “Det finaste någon kan få”.
Junior Eurovision 2021
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will be held in France, who earned the right to host it after Valentina and her song “J’imagine” won the 2020 contest in Warsaw, Poland.
This year’s contest is due to take place on November 28. The host city and venue have not yet been announced. The following countries have confirmed their participation:
