BHRT will not be broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The public broadcaster of Bosnia & Herzegovina BHRT has confirmed to Eurovoix that they will not be broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. BHRT last broadcast a Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 when the country made its last appearance.
BHRT is currently sanctioned by the European Broadcasting Union due to the debt that the broadcaster owes to the EBU. As a result of this sanction, BHRT is unable to acquire the rights to the contest if they could not pay for the amount in full at once. In 2019 BHRT confirmed it was unable to afford the rights to broadcast the contest.
Bosnia and Herzegovina last participated in the 2016 contest, in which returning artist Deen represented the country with the song “Ljubav Je” along with Dalal, Ana Rucner and Jala. The group just missed out on qualification chances, ending in 11th place in the semi-final with 104 points.
