UKTV has confirmed that it has no plans to broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 live to viewers in New Zealand.
UKTV will not be airing the Eurovision Song Contest for viewers in New Zealand having last shown the contest in 2016. The broadcaster first aired the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 showing both the semi-finals and the finals, before cutting back to just broadcasting the final in 2016.
In 2017, the broadcaster which is part of the BBC’s international chain of channels decided to drop the competition. Before UKTV aired the competition, between 2009 and 2011, Stratos broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest on a 12-hour delay in 2009 before delaying the show until June and July in 2010 and 2011.
Currently, the only broadcaster not competing in this year’s contest that will be broadcasting the show is OMNI Television in Canada.
