🇦🇱 Albania: RTSH Will Decide on Junior Eurovision 2021 Participation in June

RTSH has stated that they will make the final decision on their participation in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in June.

Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH), will make its decision on if it will participate in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in France in early Summer. They will make the final decision on whether to take part in this years competition in June.

Last year Albania did not take part in the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. RTSH later explained that COVID-19 restrictions were the reason behind Albania not competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

Albania last took part in the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Poland.

Junior Eurovision 2021

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will be held in France, who earned the right to host it after Valentina and her song “J’imagine” won the previous year in Poland, with an amount of 200 points. Currently, This year Contest is due to take place on November 28. The host city and venue have not been decided yet. The following countries have confirmed their participation:

  • France (Host)
  • Georgia
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • The Netherlands
  • Russia
  • Spain

Albania first debuted in the Junior Eurovision Contest in 2012, and to date have had 5 entries. The country is still yet to win the contest, and their best result was in 2015, when Mishela Rapo performed her song “Dambaje”, which scored a total of 93 points and ended on 5th place. Albania were absent from the contest in 2013 and 2014, before returning again in 2015.
