Jean Baudlot who represented Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 under the name Laurent Vaguener has passed away.
French singer and songwriter Jean Baudlot has passed away at the age of 79. Jean was best known for composing music for video games in the 1980s and 1990s and worked with a number of artists including Michèle Torr and Joe Dassin.
In 1979 Jean represented Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest under the stage name of Laurent Vaguener. He wrote and composed “Notre vie c’est la musique” alongside Paul de Senneville and Didier Barbelivien. At the contest in Jerusalem, he scored a total of 12 points placing 16th out of 19 acts. Jean’s appearance would be the last time Monaco appeared in the contest until 2004.
