The twenty-fifth artist to feature in our Who Is series for the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest is Senhit from San Marino.
Senhit Zadik Zadik was born in Bologna, Italy, on 1st October 1979, and raised by her Eritrean parents. She started her singing career in 2001, performing in the musicals Fame, The Lion King, and Hair in Germany and Switzerland. In 2006, she released her debut album and went on to release several singles.
Senhit is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest, having represented San Marino at the 2011 edition in Düsseldorf, Germany, with her song “Stand By”.
A year later, she released her single “AOK” in the United States. In 2014, the singer was made a permanent guest on the Canale 5 show “Domenica Live”, and changed her name to “Senhit” (formerly “Senit”).
Last year, Senhit was selected to once again represent San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest, before its cancellation. Two songs were in contention, “Obsessed” and “Freaky!”, with the latter being selected by an online public vote.
In May last year, SMRTV revealed that Senhit will represent the country at the 2021 contest. She will be singing “Adrenalina”, which features the world-famous singer Flo Rida, and will perform in the first half of the second semi-final on May 20th.

San Marino debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 alongside Azerbaijan. On their debut, they were represented by Miodio and the song “Complice”, and finished last in their semi-final with just 5 points. San Marino withdrew from the contest before returning again in 2011. Since then the country has participated annually and in 2014 qualified for their first final. The nation’s worst result came in 2017 when Valentina Monetta represented San Marino for the fourth time alongside Jimmie Wilson with “Spirit of the Night.” The pair finished last in their semi-final with just 1 point.
