RTP has announced that Camané and Clã will perform as special guests at the Festival da Canção final.
The Portuguese broadcaster RTP has announced over Instagram that Camané and Clã will be two of the guests performing at the grand final of this year’s Festival da Canção. Camané is a popular Portuguese fado singer who has sold over 6 million albums across Europe and Asia, and Clã are an award-winning Portuguese pop-rock band.
Ten acts will be competing in the final of this year’s Festival da Canção. The running order will be as follows:
- Karetus & Romeu Bairos – “Saudade”
- Joana Alegre – “Joana do Mar”
- Fábia Maia – “Dia Lindo”
- Valéria – “Na Mais Profunda Saudade”
- Carolina Deslandes – “Por Um Triz”
- NEEV – “Dancing in The Stars”
- Pedro Gonçalves – “Não Vou Ficar”
- Sara Afonso – “Contramão”
- EU.CLIDES – “VOLTE FACE”
- The Black Mamba – “Love Is On My Side”
The winner will represent Portugal in the 2nd half of the 2nd semi-final on 20 May.

Portugal debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 represented by Antonio Calvario, the country finished last scoring nul points. Prior to 2016, the best result of Portugal was 6th place which came in 1996 when Lucia Moniz performed in Oslo. She scored 92 points, receiving the 12 points from both Norway and Cyprus. Since their debut, Portugal have missed a total of five contests. In 2017, Portugal produced a spectacular win when Salvador Sobral took home the crystal microphone with his song “Amar Pelos Dois.” The 2018 contest was held in Lisbon, Portugal for the first time.
