Belarussian media reports that Belarus’ 2019 representative ZENA has submitted a song for the country’s selection process to determine their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
The dealine of submission was January 31st, since then BTRC has not revealed the list of artists who have sent in their songs. Speaking to Belarussian new portal TUT.by, PR manager Sergey Andrianov expressed that a similar situation to the selection process of Belarus’ Junior Eurovision 2020 might occur. That was the first time the country used an internal selection method since selecting Anastasia Vinnikova with I Love Belarus in 2011.
Only a few candidates have come forward who are taking part in the selection process: singer-actress Elena ZheludOK and Russian singer KAZKA. Other rumoured acts include CHAKRAS, Alyona Gorbachova and Vitaly Voronko.
Speaking to The Euro Trip Podcast on February 10th, former UK representative Daz Sampson has sent in a song for the selection, together with Katya Ocean.
According to TUT.by’s sources, Zinaida Kupriyanovich, better known as ZENA has also submitted a song for the Belarussian selection process. In 2019, ZENA has reached the 24th place in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel-Aviv.
The rules for the selection stated previously that all submissions must include a live 3 minute video recording of the entry that is being put forward for Eurovision. Singers wishing to compete in the contest were only able to submit one song into the selection.
