Fedez and Francesca Michielin are at risk of being disqualified from Sanremo 2021 following Fedez’s publication of a snippet of their entry.
Rai are currently investigating whether Fedez & Francesca Michielin will be allowed to compete in Sanremo 2021 after Fedez posted a snippet of their song for the contest on social media. Yesterday Fedez published a 10 second snippet of “Chiamami per nome” to his Instagram feed. This clip was removed however an investigation has now been launched.
According to the rules of the competition:
All songs be new be new. The 26 songs performed by the Campioni artists must be new at the time of registration for Sanremo 2020 and remain so until their first performance during the festival.
As a result it could be interpreted that by publishing the 10 second snippet that Fedez has broken the rules of the competition. There is debate among commentators around how Rai will decide to rule in the matter. Rai will announce its verdict in the coming days.

Since their return in 2011 Italy has finished in the top 10 on seven occasions.
