TIX stated during Melodi Grand Prix last night that should he win the contest that “Ut av mørket” would be performed in English.
Following his performance in the first semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix, TIX revealed that his song “Ut av mørket” would be translated into English for Eurovision should he win. TIX explained that the song was originally written in English for an international artist before deciding that he would perform the song himself.
The reaction to TIX’s performance in the first semi-final has been mixed. The song is currently number 3 in the Norwegian Spotify charts continuing to show the success of the singer. However newspaper reviews in Norway have rated the song and performance poorly.

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and have won the contest three times – in 1985, 1995 and 2009. The country has the dubious record of finishing last the most times, eleven in total, and have received nul points four times. Norway last won the contest in 2009 when Alexander Rybak broke all records with his song “Fairytale”. He scored 387 points in the final, receiving 16 sets of 12 points and scoring points from every country.
