“Lie” Oskr’s entry for Uuden Musikiin Kilpailu (UMK) 2021 has been revealed.
Yle has released the first of the seven entries that will be competing in UMK 2021. The first entry is “Lie” and is being performed by Oskr. The song has been composed and arranged by Oskari Ruohonen, Joonas Angeria and David Pramik, while the lyrics are by Heikki Slåen.
The songs that will be competing in the contest will be released at 23:00 CET on Yle Areena, Youtube and all streaming services from January 14 onwards. The dates on which the songs will be revealed are:
- January 15: Teflon Brothers x Pandora
- January 18: Danny
- January 19: Laura
- January 20: Aksel
- January 21: Blind Channel
- January 22: Ilta
YLE has also revealed that there will be English commentary for the final. In a change to the format, public voting will account for 75% of the overall result and the international juries will count for 25%.

Finland first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961, they debuted alongside Spain and Yugoslavia. Finland has finished last in the contest on 10 occasions and has received ‘nul points’ three times. It wasn’t until 2006 that Finland won the Eurovision Song Contest. Lordi represented the country in Athens with the song “Hard Rock Hallelujah” scoring 292 points, a record total at the time.
