The French Head of Delegation has stated that France Télévisions is keen to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
Speaking the day after France took victory at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020, Head of Delegation Alexandra Redde-Amiel has stated that the French public broadcaster is keen to host Junior Eurovision 2021. Speaking to 20minutes.fr she explained:
We are of course very keen to host Eurovision Junior in France next year. Delphine Ernotte (President of France Télévisions ) is very keen to do it, Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez (Director of Antennas and Programs of France Télévisions) too. We will first savor and then discuss with the presidency of Eurovision and the EBU to find out how we can organize the 2021 edition and if it will be possible to do so. You have to speak with them before formalizing anything but in any case, the wish is there.
Ms Redde-Amiel went on to state that Valentina’s performance was recorded using live vocals, following comments on social media that the singer was not performing her song live and instead the performance was playback. She added:
Everything was live. Everything has been verified in Poland. Valentina sings live, there is no debate, and she has an absolutely gorgeous voice.
Valentina won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 for France with the song “J’Imagine”. The singer scored a total of 200 points topping both the jury and public vote, the first act to do so since the 2015 contest in Sofia, Bulgaria.

France first participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with “Si on voulait bien” by Thomas but withdrew the year after. After a 14-year break, France returned to the contest in 2018 with “Jamais sans toi” by Angélina. She finished 2nd, giving France their best result in a Eurovision contest since 1991. In 2020 Valentina would take victory in the contest with the song “J’Imagine” topping both the public and jury vote with a total of 200 points.
