The Roop have confirmed on social media this morning that they will be competing in the Lithuanian selection for Eurovision 2021.
It has been confirmed this morning by the band that The Roop will be attempting to represent Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest. The Roop posted on Instagram:
The question we were hearing since spring will be answered now – we decided to take part in the National Eurovision selection. We have a song and we have a vision. Let’s hope it will become Euro-vision.
The Roop had originally been due to compete in Eurovision 2020 with the song “On Fire”. They had been among the favourites going into the contest and looked likely to give Lithuania their best result in the competition to date.
Pabandom iš naujo 2021 will be used to determine the Lithuanian representative for next years Eurovision Song Contest. LRT announced earlier this year that should The Roop wish to take part in the selection that they would automatically qualify for the final.
The participants in Pabandom iš naujo 2021 will be revealed on January 16. The selection will last no longer than six shows but the precise number of shows will depend on how many songs are selected.
