The Reference Group for the Eurovision Song Contest has decided that the Netherlands will perform 23rd in the final of Eurovision 2021.
The Netherlands will keep their position in slot number twenty three in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. The position was originally drawn for the 2020 contest during the Allocation Draw in Rotterdam last January.
The draw of the host nations position is held as part of the Allocation Draw and assigns a random position to the host country. This is done to ensure that there are no allegations of running order preference when the producers create the final order following the second semi-final.
A total of 41 countries will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Eurovision 2020 was due to be held in Rotterdam after Duncan Laurence gave the Netherlands their first victory since 1975 with the song “Arcade”. After the cancelation of the 2020 contest, it was decided that Rotterdam would host the 2021 contest instead.
