RTVSLO has informed Evrovizija.com that they are currently assessing scenarios regarding how they will select the nations entry for Eurovision 2021.
In a statement to Evrovizija, RTVSLO has stated that it is currently evaluating a number of scenarios for how it will select the Slovenian entry for Eurovision 2021. The statement reads:
The selection system for Ana’s song for 2021 also depends, at least in part, on the possibility of making a selection, so we will have to wait a little longer for the final decision.
RTVSLO will likely be assessing whether it wishes to hold a selection due to COVID-19, as well as the quality of songs submitted into the broadcaster for EMA. The two factors will then likely impact on whether RTVSLO opts to organise a televised EMA 2021 or hold an internal song selection.
A total of 191 songs are in the running to be performed by Ana Soklič at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. A possible list of selected songs will be published on rtvslo.si by 31 December 2020 at the latest, and the Slovenian entry for Eurovision 2021 will be selected by March 9 2021 at the latest.
