Petar Aničić will represent Serbia at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Warsaw, Poland.
RTS, the Serbian national broadcaster, has revealed that Petar Aničić will represent the nation at the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The fourteen-year-old will sing “Heartbeat”, which will be revealed at a later date. Since their return to the contest in 2014, all Serbian participants have been internally selected except in 2017.
Petar began his music career at the age of four. Two years later, he enrolled in the Mokranjac Junior Music School, and has gone on to win several awards.
Junior Eurovision 2020
Junior Eurovision 2020 is to be held on November 29 in the Polish capital of Warsaw. The competition is being hosted by the Polish public broadcaster TVP, after Viki Gabor took the victory with the song “Superhero”. This years contest will see the participants perform from a studio in their home country, with all performances being pre-recorded for the broadcast. The show will then be hosted live from Warsaw, with interval acts performing live from the studio in Poland.
Thirteen countries will participate in the contest. They are:
- Germany – debuting nation
- Poland – host nation

Serbia made their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country in 2006. They were represented by Neustrašivi učitelji stranih jezika on their debut with the song “Učimo strane jezike”, finishing 5th with 81 points. Serbia went on to compete annually until 2010, after which point RTS withdrew from the contest due to financial difficulties. Serbia returned to the contest in 2014 and has gone on to compete in the contest annually.
