PBS has this evening revealed the young singers who will be competing to represent Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
The acts that will be competing in Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 have been revealed this evening by PBS. A total of twelve acts have been selected by a panel from the submissions that the broadcaster received earlier this month.
The 12 acts are:
- Leah Cauchi – Anġli (Angels)
- Leah Mifsud – Anywhere
- Isaac Tom – Beside Me
- Mariah Cefai – Change the Silence
- Chanel Monseigneur – Chasing Sunsets
- Yulan Law & Gianluca Cilia – Deck of Cards
- Kaya Gouder Curmi – Made of Stars
- Emma Cutajar – Modern-Day Cinderella
- Anneka Xerri – Moving
- Zaira Mifsud & Eksenia Sammut – Only Live Once
- Michela Caruana – Replay
- Mychael Bartolo Chircop – The Child From Inside
Gianluca Cilia previously represented Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with “Dawra Tond”, where he finished in 9th place. If he wins, he would be the first returning artist in Junior Eurovision since Lerika (Moldova 2011 and Russia 2012) and the first male returning artist.
During the first two weeks of September the twelve finalists will perform for a jury. These performances will be filmed and then broadcast on TVM and social media for the public to then vote on. Voting will open by mid-September with the winner of the selection to be announced at the end of September.

Malta debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and has gone on to win the contest twice. In 2013 on their return to the competition in Kyiv, Gaia Cauchi won the competition with “The Start”, she was the first winner of a Eurovision event for Malta. In 2015 Destiny Chukunyere took victory in Sofia, Bulgaria with the song “Not My Soul”. Malta finished last at the 2005 contest in Belgium with the song “Make It Right” performed by Thea & Friends.
