Moldova will not return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year.
Moldovan broadcaster TRM has confirmed to Eurofestivales that they will not be competing at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Warsaw, Poland. The country made their debut in Junior Eurovision when the competition was first held in Belarus in 2010. They went on to participate in the competition four times before withdrawing from the contest in 2014.
Moldova’s best result came in 2011 when Lerika represented the nation in Yerevan, Armenia. She performed the song “No, No” and finished 6th with a total of 78 points. The nations worst result came in 2013 when Rafael Bobeica sang “Cum să fim”, he finished 11th with 41 points.
Junior Eurovision 2020
Junior Eurovision 2020 is to be held on November 29 in the Polish capital of Warsaw. The competition is being hosted by the Polish public broadcaster TVP, after Viki Gabor took victory with the song “Superhero”. The show will be staged in a TV studio facility in Warsaw, not a large arena as has been seen in previous years.
