The Serbian public broadcaster RTS has launched its search for the nations entry at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
RTS has today launched the submissions window for the Serbian entry for this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest. From today until September 1, singers and songwriters are invited to submit their songs for the competition to the broadcaster, with full rules available here.
The announcement continues a run of open call for submissions, followed by an internal selection of the artist and song for the competition. Serbia last held a televised selection in 2017.
Junior Eurovision 2020
Junior Eurovision 2020 is to be held on November 29 in the Polish capital of Warsaw. The competition is being hosted by the Polish public broadcaster TVP, after Viki Gabor took victory with the song “Superhero”. The show will be staged in a TV studio facility in Warsaw, not a large arena as has been seen in previous years.
To date, the following countries have confirmed participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Poland:
Serbia made their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country in 2006. They were represented by Neustrašivi učitelji stranih jezika on their debut with the song “Učimo strane jezike”, finishing 5th with 81 points. Serbia went on to compete annually until 2010, after which point RTS withdrew from the contest due to financial difficulties. Serbia returned to the contest in 2014 and has gone on to compete in the contest annually.
