BTRC, the Belarusian public broadcaster, has launched its selection process for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
Belarus is the latest nation to confirm its participation in the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Warsaw, Poland. The broadcaster has today opened its selection process to find the nations entry for the contest in November.
The rules of the contest state that all participants must submit their entries to the broadcaster by August 15. A focus group will then select up to 15 acts to compete in a final by no later than August 24.
Belarus has two options regarding how the nation’s entry for Warsaw will be chosen. A selection can be held internally with a professional jury selecting the nation’s representative, this would be held no later than September 15. The other option is a televised selection, which would be held no later than October 16.
Liza Misnikova represented Belarus in Gliwice with “Pepelny”. She finished 11th with 92 points.

Belarus debuted at the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, and have been present at every contest since. To date, Belarus have won the contest twice – first in 2005 with Ksenia Sitnik and her song “My Vmeste”, which received 149 points, and the second time in 2007 with Alexey Zhigalkovich and his song “S Druz’yami”, which received a total of 137 points. Their worst entry came from Egor Volchek and his song “Spjavajtse So Mnoj” in 2004, which received only 9 points. Belarus have placed in the top 3 a total of 5 times to date.
An internally entrant with an original music video plot might be nice. 🙂 Also, please let me know when the remaining countries confirm JESC 2020 participation:
