Israel will not return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year.
Israeli broadcaster IBC has confirmed to Euromix that they will not participate in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster did not give a reason behind its non-participation.
Israel returned to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018, following a two year absence from the competition. Israel was represented by Noam Dadon with the song “Children Like These” and finished 14th with 81 points. Israel was 13th with the juries on 34 points and ended 11th in the online vote scoring 47 points.
Junior Eurovision 2020
Junior Eurovision 2020 is to be held on November 29 in the Polish capital of Warsaw. The competition is being hosted by the Polish public broadcaster TVP, after Viki Gabor took victory with the song “Superhero”. The show will be staged in a TV studio facility in Warsaw, not a large arena as has been seen in previous years.
To date, the following countries have confirmed participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Poland:

Israel has previously taken part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on three occasions. On their debut in 2012, Kids.il came eighth with “Let the Music Win”. Israel then withdrew from the 2013 contest and did not return until 2016. On their return, the country was represented by Shir & Tim with “Follow My Heart”. The duo finished in fifteenth place.
